2015 Tour de France in Photos
The Tour de France reached its climax in Paris on Sunday afternoon, with England’s Chris Froome winning his second title. The 102nd edition of the most epic bike race departed from the Netherlands three weeks ago, and after 2,088 miles it finished on the Champs-Élysées in the shadow of the Arc de Triomphe. In our Tour de France Preview and Primer we highlighted some of our favorite stages in this year’s tour, but also indicated that we would watch them all, because nothing matches the beauty, drama, and fan spectacle of cycling’s greatest challenge. For each of the Tour’s 21 stages, we have selected two of our favorite photos from Getty’s fabulous collection to share with you below. They show the breathtaking scenery, the wild spectators, the thrill of victory, and of course the agony of defeat. We hope you enjoy this carefully selected journey through France’s grand tour…
