Alberto Contador Punches Fan

Cycling fans can get a bit closer to the action than most fans of sports are able to. As we discussed in our Tour de France preview podcast, the mountain top finishes are a crazy party, and fans will often run alongside the riders as they climb the mountain.

At today’s epic Alpe d’Huez stage, Alberto Contador encountered a fan that he didn’t take too kindly to. The fan was dressed as a doctor, and I assume he was trying to administer a doping test to the defending Tour de France winner. Contador, while riding his bike throws a bit of a punch at the fan.

Only in cycling will you see such a thing, that will likely go unpunished, as its common for cyclists to push fans away from them while riding. Awesome.
