Alias to get a Reboot?
Taking a page from the big screen, it looks as if ABC might be resurrecting a past hit series. Before J.J. Abrams became the go-to writer/director/creator in Tinseltown he was the mastermind behind Alias. For those unawares, Alias starred Mrs. Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, as sultry spy gal Sydney Bristow from 2001 to 2006.
In the wake of Lost ending its six-season run, ABC execs are scrambling to find suitable replacements. Rebooting a show four years after it wrapped seems kinda dumb, especially if Abrams, who is mighty busy these days, isn’t somehow involved. But hey, remakes are all the rage now, so who am I to quibble?
Finding a replacement for Garner shouldn’t be that difficult. There are plenty of eager beavers roaming the streets and hills of Hollywood who would leap at the chance to fill her high-heel pumps. Again, this is just one of those unsubstantiated rumors that are known to surface now and again. Whether or not anything comes of it remains to be seen.
I tried to get into Alias, but it never sucked me in like Lost did. However, Garner did look pretty smokin’. If producers could find a chick as hot as she was, I’d be willing to give the reboot a try. Someone like Minka Kelly would be perfect, in my humble opinion.
