Aloft Hotel : Ocean City, Maryland
Aloft Hotels, part of Marriott International, has over 150 properties in more than 20 countries around the world. They specialize in hotels for the ‘always on’ next generation of traveler with tech-forward, vibrant experiences and modern style. Their newest hotel is actually their first “resort hotel” in the resort city of Ocean City, Maryland. We’re currently enjoying a hosted stay at the 120-room, pet-friendly, water-front hotel located in the 45th Street Village.
While many beach visitors on the Atlantic Coast wake up early for the sunrise over the ocean, at the Aloft Ocean City, visitors get the benefit of a bay front location which offers spectacular views of the far more accessible sunset. The Isle of Wight Bay is an active body of water full of fishing, sailing, and recreational vessels, including pontoon boats, jet skis and paddle boards that are available for rent nearby. It’s actually the view that we prefer when we visit Ocean City, so to have a new modern hotel open up on the bay side of town is a welcome development.
By far our favorite features of the Aloft Ocean city are the outdoor pool and bar with private balconies all overlooking the Isle of Wight Bay. This isn’t a spot where you go for peace and quiet however. Expect an active bar and pool with live music and guests rocking their own tunes from the balconies. There are also two bay-facing event spaces totaling 3,250 square-feet, ideal for both business functions and weddings, as well as a 380 square-foot space perfect for corporate meetings and other intimate gatherings.
“Aloft Hotels are different by design, aiming to give today’s modern, tech-savvy traveler an energized experience that includes everything they need and nothing that they don’t,” said Bridget Higgins, senior global brand director, Aloft Hotels. “We’re thrilled to be bringing this innovative concept to Ocean City, particularly as it is one of the first examples of our future-proofed design for Aloft Hotels worldwide.”

The style of the common spaces is matched in the modern loft-style rooms. They feature plush platform beds, custom Aloft bath amenities by Bliss Spa, walk-in showers with rainfall showerheads, Marshall bluetooth speakers, LG smart televisions, and those amazing balconies. We greatly enjoyed our stay at the Aloft Ocean City, and think it’s a perfect addition to the resort town’s landscape, offering a hip new lifestyle hotel on the waterfront. It’s just a short drive from the boardwalk and an even shorter walk from the Atlantic Ocean and Ocean City Convention Center. Find more information at their website : Aloft Ocean City.
