BFGoodrich : Are You Driver Enough?

BFGoodrich 560x219Founded in 1896, BFGoodrich was the first American tire manufacturer and they’ve had many other firsts and milestones over the years. BFG is probably best known for their amazing legacy of success in off-road racing, and that legacy continues with their highly-rated new All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires that launched last year.

BFGoodrich 3 560x280This year BFGoodrich launched their new Ultra-High Performance All-Season Tire, the g-Force COMP-2 A/S which gives drivers the ability to accelerate faster, brake shorter, and maintain control in all seasons. To help familiarize dealers with both products, this summer BFG set out on a 22 city tour of the United States, which culminated with their final stop in the Nation’s Capital. Recently we were invited out to FedEx Field to participate in their “Are You Driver Enough?” tour and learn more about their products.

BFGoodrich 2 560x280While we unfortunately didn’t get to drive on the T/A KO2, we did learn about their construction and what makes them so effective for off-road driving. They boast longer treadlife, tougher sidewalls, and aggressive traction and we can’t wait to get a chance to put them to the test in the future.

What we did get to drive though were the Ford Mustang and Scion FR-S outfitted with the new g-Force COMP-2 A/S tires and a direct competitor. We drove them back to back in both dry and wet conditions and the differences were notable. We were able to maintain control on the autocross course and stop much quicker with the BFGoodrich tires. The competitor wasn’t hand-picked by BFG either, they actually surveyed the dealers for their selection and assured us the air-pressure was the same in both sets of tires.

The event was designed to demonstrate the quality of BFG products to dealers who regularly have to recommend tires for customers, and by all measures it has been a success for the brand. We enjoyed our time with the professional driving instructors, and were impressed by the products. Check out this video for an idea of what the day was like :
