Even Darrelle Revis Thinks the Jets Stink

The New York Jets have gone from legit AFC contenders to excellent fodder for ridicule in one year’s time. Failing to make the playoffs and trading for Tim Tebow will do that, as will having zero depth at wide receiver, running back and right tackle. Santonio Holmes is hurt, Wayne Hunter has been benched and the quarterback tandem has looked laughably ineffective. Even All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis is skeptical the offense is capable of getting the job done.

“You’ve got to do what’s best for the team,” the All-Pro cornerback told Newsday, “and I don’t know if we’ve been wise in that department.”

You mean signing the perpetually injured Chaz Schilens and toying with Antonio Cromartie at receiver isn’t wise?

“I don’t really know how this is going to pan out. I just hope that they do what they need to do on offense. And not to divide this — I’m supporting those guys. I think the only thing you can do is be supportive. Right now it’s still preseason.”

Like the kind of support you give a relative in rehab. Nice to see the camaraderie is going strong at Jets camp.
