Four Fruity Cocktails for National Rum Day

National Rum Day1 560x218Today, August 16th is National Rum Day. Which means of course that it’s time to mix up some fruity drinks and go sit on a beach somewhere. Jimmy Buffet calls them “Boat Drinks” and they’re light and refreshing. Sounds like a great way to spend a Summer Saturday doesn’t it? So here are Four Fruity Cocktails to Celebrate National Rum Day featuring some of our favorite Rum Brands…

White & Pineapple, Splash of Soda

Ingredients :

  • 1.5 oz. CAPTAIN MORGAN WHITE® RUM
  • 5 oz. pineapple juice
  • 1 oz. soda

Instructions :

  1. Fill a tall glass with ice.
  2. Pour in the CAPTAIN MORGAN WHITE® RUM.
  3. Top with the pineapple juice and splash of soda.
  4. Garnish with a lime wedge.

White Daiquiri

White Daiquiri

Ingredients :

  • 1.5 oz. CAPTAIN MORGAN WHITE® RUM
  • 1 oz. lime juice
  • 1 oz. simple syrup

Instructions :

  • Fill a shake halfway with ice.
  • Add CAPTAIN MORGAN WHITE® RUM, lime juice, simple syrup.
  • Shake well and strain into cocktail glass filled with ice.
  • Garnish with lime.

Guayaba Arabica

Guayaba Arabica

Ingredients :

  • 1 ½ parts Bacardi superior
  • 1 part Goya guava nectar
  • ¾ part fresh squeeze lime juice
  • ¾ part coffee scented simple syrup*
  • 5 cilantro leafs
  • 1 pinch of salt

Instructions :

  1. Place all of the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice.
  2. Shake until the ingredients are well combined.
  3. Strain the mixture through a small mesh strainer into a cocktail glass.
  4. Garnish with freshly grated espresso bean.
  5. * To make the coffee scented simple syrup, bring 1 ½ cups of water to a boil, blanch 1 cup of espresso beans into the water for approximately 30 seconds, strain the espresso beans, add 1 cup of sugar and stir until the sugar dissolves.

Cruzan Perfect Day

Ingredients :

  • 1 part Cruzan® Peach Rum
  • 1 part Cruzan® Aged Light Rum
  • 1/2 part Coconut Creme
  • 1/2 part Fresh Lime Juice

Instructions :

  • Add all ingredients into a cocktail shaker over ice.
  • Shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
  • Strain over fresh ice into an old fashioned glass.
  • Garnish with a Lime Wedge.
