Full Circle Kolsch-Style Beer
Full Circle Kolsch-Style Beer, New Holland Brewing Co., LLC
History: “A kölsch-style beer, Full Circle is a refreshing celebration of our brewery’s belief in balance. The soft, well-rounded malt character, light hop profile and crisp finish bring us back around to the familiar tastes of classic, thirst-quenching beer. A perfect session beer, we recommend Full Circle with fish, grilled vegetables, grilled sausages, and just about anything else served on a patio.”
This is no doubt a pretty beer. It effervesces like few others I’ve seen in a while, culminating in a rich, white head that hangs on for a good while. Ya know, with that lacing and pretty clingy foam everyone ooh’s and ahh’s over. Anyway, it has a nice earthy aroma bringing to mind maybe farm grass and hay. As odd as that sounds, drive by a farm once not during fertilizer time and you’ll see what I mean. Not entirely unusual but definitely a nice change from the last few I’ve imbibed.
It has a clean, almost Lite flow across the tongue with just a hint of bitter hoppiness/malty flavor coming up last. It’s an easy drinking beer for sure and would go really well with a summer outdoor barbecue or a patio party, more or less what history up there recommends. Other than that, there’s really nothing completely special about this beer. I’ve had similar, and this does stand out as one of the better ones of it’s type, but it really doesn’t smack me around with a ‘WOAH’ like something sightly more, I don’t know, magical. Having said that, it is good and and drinking it is nice. Enjoy it, just don’t expect too much.

For a stand-out in the Kolsch style, but since it’s style is rather dull, it’s just a prettier pebble in a pile of rocks.
