Griffey for President

It’s election season and you still have time to go out and vote. But before you do that, let me take you back to 1996 for a second to remind you of some of the good ole days of politics. In particular, the Ken Griffey Jr./Mariner Moose ticket. You know, when Griffey’s name was golden and he wasn’t injured or washed up. Back then he was featured on cereal boxes, video games, and baseball cards among other items. He was so popular, Nike made him its baseball figurehead and launched a national “Griffey for President” campaign in 1996. Below are some examples of the ads:
