Hard Rock Hotel – Las Vegas

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas opened in 1995 as an alternative to the Vegas establishment, and has been expanded twice in it’s history. While it is off-strip, the Hard Rock Hotel is known as one of the premier party destinations in Vegas, and offers a different vibe from what you might be used to at other Vegas resorts. However with a 30,000 square foot casino, 670 guest rooms, and a plethora of restaurant, entertainment, and shopping options, the Hard Rock is everything you would expect in a Las Vegas entertainment resort destination.

“I’m gonna keep on the run, I’m gonna have me some fun”

In 2013 we had the opportunity to spend a long weekend at the Hard Rock Hotel, which served as host for the American Honey Bar-sity World Championships. It was the perfect location to host a bourbon fueled weekend of bar games, music, and partying. Logistically, everything went off without a hitch, and the staff at the Hard Rock was helpful and courteous while contributing to the success of an amazing event.

“When the house is rocking, don’t bother knocking, come on in”

If you’ve ever dined at the Hard Rock Cafe, then you know what to expect at the Hard Rock Hotel; booming music, sophisticated dark interiors, and an amazing collection of music memorabilia on display throughout the property. You could very easily spend a few hours just treating the hotel like a museum, and marveling at their amazing artifact assortment.

Everywhere you look, there are references to music culture. From the guitar shaped handles on the front door, to the huge saxophone chandeliers throughout the property, the theme of this hotel was obvious, but definitely not overdone.

“We’re trashing hotels like it’s going out of style”

The Hard Rock Hotel has a variety of rooms available in multiple towers. The photos contained in this section are from their luxurious HRH All-Suite Tower, where we stayed for our last night in Vegas. The room was obviously spacious and well-appointed, and we were particularly fond of the double-sided room divider equipped with two televisions. While you normally don’t spend too much time in your room while visiting Las Vegas, it’s always nice to have a calming oasis away from the bustle to relax when you have a few moments.

Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Hard Rock Hotel, and we didn’t even experience what it is most famous for, the crazy pool parties. Since our stay came during November, the pools were mostly closed, but we were amazed at how much of the grounds was covered with seemingly endless Tahitian paradises. We would definitely recommend a stay at the Hard Rock the next time you’re in Vegas, but go during the summer so you can check out the ladies sitting poolside.
