John Wayne Walding 400 at the Brickyard

Brickyard 400This weekend we’re proud to be returning to Indianapolis for an epic NASCAR experience with Crown Royal. We’ll be attending the race which is officially named “Crown Royal Presents the John Wayne Walding 400 at the Brickyard Powered by” Yeah it’s a bit of a mouthful, so we’re going to focus on the John Wayne Walding part. Each year, Crown Royal awards naming rights to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway to a deserving American Hero. This year, John Wayne Walding is that hero…

John WaldingJohn Wayne Walding, 32, of Little Elm, Texas, served in the United States Army for 12 years with seven of those years being in the 3rd Special Forces Group, completing tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. Despite losing his lower right leg while serving overseas, Walding was the first amputee to graduate Special Forces Sniper School. This decorated veteran was nominated by his brother because of his continued efforts to provide guidance and inspiration to fellow service men and women. A big NASCAR fan, Walding has never had the opportunity to go to a race and looks forward to attending the John Wayne Walding 400 in July.

The race will be broadcast on ESPN at 1:00 PM ET on Sunday July 27th, and we encourage you to check it out, and help us to honor Walding. We can’t wait to meet him, and enjoy the race from the top of the Pagoda. You can follow along with the fun by keeping an eye on the #ReignOn and #JWW400 hashtags this weekend. Check back next week and we’ll have a full recap of our trip to the Brickyard.
