Larry David on TV Guide Network
The mind behind Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm will be getting busy soon shooting the new season of Curb, but first Larry David got the chance to answer some questions about The TV Guide Network’s new Curb Your Enthusiasm Exclusive Extras segment to be hosted by Susie Essman. The episodes will feature a panel of high profile guest stars, media pundits and prominent social figures who will debate moral implications featured in each episode.
“Finally, thanks to the TV Guide Network, I’ll get a chance to watch actual, intelligent people discuss and debate the issues addressed on Curb,” Larry said. “Now if only someone could tell me where this alleged ‘network’ is, I might even watch it.”
“My goal is to make this the best seven-minute panel show on TV,” Essman said in a press release.
As for Larry, he’s been doing rather typical lately. The latest thing that annoys him are guys walking around with their shirts off. He watches American Idol with his kids, and The Pacific on HBO, but not much else. He couldn’t name a single movie coming out this summer, other than ‘The new Woody Allen.’ During the entire interview, he was breathing into the telephone, relaying feedback, unaware how annoying it was. But who was I to tell him?
He also listed his favorite Curb episodes:
- The Doll
- The Ski Lift
- The Bare Midriff
It’s too early to say if this coming season of Curb, which will be partially filmed in New York, will be the last. Larry says that he’s always leaning toward each season being the last and will not announce when it will end to spare himself the pressure of prepping a typical series finale.
The TV Guide Network will air as much original content of Curb that is suitable for basic cable audiences. The first episode premieres Wednesday, June 2 at 10 p.m. Also, Larry says Curb will be in syndication in September but he didn’t know what channel.
