Mamba Shift by Booq

As I have said many o’ times in the gadgets section of Gunaxin, I love when technology makes my life easy on many levels. As a person who uses laptops, audio recording gear, and MP3 players, I can have a mobile recording studio anywhere I go. With all these gadgets, I need an easy yet protective way to lug all this equipment.  Thankfully I am able to use just one bag for all my equipment. Booq has a long line of bags that can help you take your gadgets on the go with you while keeping your gear safe.

For me, the Mamba Shift is the answer. The Mamba is lightweight and roomy, and the folks at Booq have thought of every way that is imaginable to use all the space in the Mamba. There are elastic pop-out iPhone pockets that have been integrated into the shoulder straps, a densely padded laptop compartment to protect your laptop, easy-access side pockets let you store things quickly, which is great if you are like me and are always on the move.

As you can see in the picture above, the Mamba has a large main compartment that can fit more items then the Family Truckster.  There is an overlapping interior section with accessory pockets that make the backpack very functional and yet still look cool inside and out. The backpack comes with a separate accessory zipper pouch you can use to keep your external hard drive, cables, or any other small items.

There is another feature that I have never seen on a backpack before the Mamba. Each bag has a unique Terralinq badge and serial number, designed to help you recover your lost & found bag. This is a smart feature since everything in that bag will be worth a few hundred dollars each at least. Outside of the Mamba there are  2 side quick access slip pockets for plane tickets, mobile phones, cards or pens, 1 top-front zipper pocket for miscellaneous quick storage items and 2 elastic pop-out pockets on shoulder straps for mobile phones and MP3 players.

Inside the bag there is the huge main zipper compartment, ideal storage for paper documents, garments, power adaptor, mouse and other laptop accessories, 1 document slip pocket, 1 large velcro flapped pocket, 1 document slip pocket, 5 lining slip pockets, a large mesh window pocket, 4 pen slots, 1 removable zipper accessory pouch, a back zipper opening allows access to densely padded laptop compartment and is lined with soft Nylex which won’t scratch your gear.

Overall the Mamba stacks up as on heavy duty laptop backpack that will keep up with you where ever you go. I am very satisfied with the Mamba Shift and if you are always on the move and need your gear, then this might be the bag for you. The Mamba Shift sells for $149.95 and can be purchased at the Booq website.
