Marriott’s Shadow Ridge in Palm Desert
Marriott’s Shadow Ridge is a luxury vacation destination for golf lovers located in Palm Desert, California. As you can see from the drone shot above, the property includes massive pools and an onsite golf course, Shadow Ridge Golf Club. Marriott’s Shadow Ridge graciously hosted us for our most recent adventure with MenWhoBlog, but we weren’t there to golf, we gathered to drive Toyota TRD Pro trucks off-road in the desert.

Above you can see our trucks gathered in front of Marriott’s Shadow Ridge, ready to depart for an epic all-day drive through Joshua Tree National Forest.
When you head west from Los Angeles or northwest from San Diego and venture past the mountains, you essentially end up in the desert. However the towns of Palm Springs and Palm Desert, California are immediately recognizable from the sky, like a luscious green oasis in the middle of tan nothingness. Just look at the fairway view out the patio door of our two-bedroom villa rental:
It was a stark contrast to the barren wastelands that we drove the trucks through, and was a perfect place to rest after a long day on the trail. Each villa includes separate living and sleeping spaces, a full kitchen, and a cozy fireplace. Despite the 110 degree temperatures when we visited, it can get quite cold in the desert at night, so that fireplace is likely useful for many guests.
Lodging with the Marriott Vacation Club was such a great way to go for this guys trip, as we had a communal area to hang out and get to know each other, rather than each being in our own hotel room. With four beds, it’s absolutely perfect for a typical foursome golf trip. Assuming you like the other guys, there is no better way to spend more time with your friends than one of these villas.
All rental accommodations at Marriott’s Shadow Ridge include free Wi-Fi, flat-screen TVs and desert views. There is much more to do than just golf too :
Your entire family will enjoy the Chuckwalla Pool and water slide. Dine on American favorites at one of our casual restaurants while you’re here, too. Kids will love The Mirage, Marriott’s Activity Zone Experience, and our on-site movie theater; adventure seekers will appreciate our resort’s location near attractions like Joshua Tree National Park and the Palm Springs Ariel Tramway.
Our villa at Marriott Shadow Ridge Resort would typically cost about $300 per night, and up to $600 in the peak season (Spring), which is quite competitive to the alternatives. We highly recommend it for your next guys trip to the region, or other Marriott Vacation Clubs in other areas.
Whenever we travel to California, we like to grab a meal at Islands Burgers. It’s a fun place to eat, and we’ve never been disappointed in our meal. The folks at the Palm Desert location took great care of us, as you can see from the spread we devoured below :
