MessageHub : Better Messaging

If you’re anything like us, you communicate in many different ways with your smartphone. Everyone has email, most have Facebook, and we’re pretty sure a good percentage of you use Twitter and LinkedIn too. It can become a pain to keep track of those different accounts and conversations, and many times they’re with the same people. Check out this Infographic which explores the problem in more detail :

MessageHub is a free new app that aims to change the way that you message, and solve this problem. MessageHub pulls together social, email, texts and chat messages into one interface, so you can get a unified experience when messaging your friends. You can also share to all of those different outlets from one place, which helps to alleviate switching between apps.

Once you’ve logged into your accounts with MessageHub, it’s able to prioritize your contacts and messages, and determine which people are likely most important to you, based on how you interact with them. This can save you time by cutting through the clutter to find the messages you care about most. It also enables the grouping of conversations, so you can thread together multiple messages, regardless of what platform they’re on.

We recently downloaded MessageHub from the iTunes store and have been giving it a test drive. Being able to see messages from our closest friends grouped in one place is certainly a perk, but it does take some trust to completely let go and make MessageHub the center of your messaging world, when you are accustomed to flipping between multiple apps. We particularly liked the ability to send to multiple social platforms at once, and think that would prove very useful to us. However the app currently seems to only handle one account per connection type, which just makes us envious of anyone whose digital footprint is that simple.
