Michael Strahan : Sportsman of the Year

michael strahanEven after football Michael Strahan is winning awards! Strahan, who is a seven-time Pro Bowl defensive end with the New York Giants, will be honored as Sportsman of the Year, by the March of Dimes New York Division at its 27th Annual Sports Luncheon on Wednesday, December 1.

Each year, March of Dimes honors the outstanding achievements of men and women in the sports industry. Past recipients include New York Yankees manager Joe Girardi, NBA Commissioner David Stern, former NFL Commissioner Paul Tagliabue, baseball greats Mickey Mantle and Cal Ripken, Jr., tennis legends Andre Agassi and Venus Williams, basketball Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing, and Golfer of the Year Annika Sorenstam.

Other awards that will be presented on December 1st will be to Lisa Leslie for Sportswoman on the Year, the Sports Leadership Award will be presented to Steve Sabol, NFL Films President, and FOX Sports Vice Chairman, Ed Goren, will be awarded the Corporate Leadership Award.
