Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Keeping Bikinis

If you’re a degenerate like me, you probably unleashed a horrifying scream when the International Volleyball Federation approved less revealing uniforms for beach volleyball events at this summer’s London Olympic Games. I mean, no offense to Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh’s talent, but the only reason I watch them compete is to see, ahem, their supple bodies prance around in tight, clingy bikini bottoms. Lucky for us, that wonderful scenery ain’t going anywhere.

”It’s something I really feel comfortable with,” said Kerri Walsh, who with Misty May-Treanor won the gold medal in Athens and Beijing while wearing the standard beach volleyball uniform: a two-piece bathing suit. ”It’s something I feel empowered by, not distracted with. I’m not a sex symbol; I’m an athlete. I want to be streamlined out there.”

Hallelujah! For those unaware, the “new” rules are more respectful to women of other cultures, but also totally lame.

The new rule will allow women to wear shorts that stop a little more than an inch above the knee, along with a sleeved or sleeveless top – similar to the uniforms for indoor volleyball players. The rule has already been in effect at five Continental Cup qualifying competitions involving 142 nations.

BOOOOOOO!!!! If i wanted to see long shorts and sleeves I’d watch soccer. Beach volleyball is for ogling Brazilians with deep, dark tans. After all, only pasty skinned vampires like myself wear shirts and baggy shorts on the beach.
