Orphan Barrel Whiskey Distilling Company
Orphan Barrel Whiskey Distilling Company is a unique new project determined to locate lost and forgotten barrels of whiskey from around the world and share them with discerning adult fans. The first two variants to be released from the company will include the 20-year-old Barterhouse Whiskey and the 26-year-aged Old Blowhard Whiskey.
Barterhouse Whiskey (SRP: $75) stocks were discovered in old warehouses at the famed Stitzel-Weller facility in Louisville, Ky. Rumor has it warehouse workers have already begun lining up for the first taste of this beautiful whiskey with a soft nose reminiscent of warm spice, biscuit and buttercream. The whiskey’s mellow taste includes notes of roasted grain, charred oak and a brown sugar finish.
Old Blowhard Whiskey (SRP: $150) was also found at Stitzel-Weller. At 26-years-old, the whiskey contains exuberant, rich flavors with undertones of smoke and honey followed by a gentle finish – dry and spicy with a hint of orange peel. Old Blowhard Whiskey is meant to be sipped slowly and best enjoyed among gregarious friends and unyielding debates.
Captain Morgan White Rum
Inspired by the sparkling waters of the Carribean, Captain Morgan White Rum uses fine cane molasses and is five times distilled to create a finish that’s as smooth as Captain Morgan Original Spiced Rum.
This remarkably crisp white rum, which is slightly sweet with a taste of lush fruit and hints of green apple, can be enjoyed on the rocks or paired with cola or lemon-lime soda. It also tastes great in a number of classic rum cocktails such as a mojito or daiquiri.
Captain Morgan White Rum will begin to appear on shelves across the country this month and will be sold with a suggested retail price of $15.99 for a 750 mL bottle.
Crown Royal XO
Crown Royal created the new Crown Royal XO Blended Canadian Whisky as a nod to the brand’s great craftsmanship and history. The liquid, finished in cognac casks from the French Limousin Forest, is a delicious whisky with hints of vanilla, spice and rich dried fruits with an impeccably smooth finish.
Crown Royal XO, which began to appear on shelves across the country last month and will be sold for a suggested retail price of $49.99 for a 750 mL bottle, is the perfect whisky to share with family and friends as you celebrate extraordinary moments.
George Dickel No. 1 Foundation Recipe
George Dickel No. 1 has served as the backbone for where George Dickel Tennessee whiskies including No. 8, No. 12 and Barrel Select begin. This un-aged whisky is handmade from the finest grains and legendary Cascade Spring water before being finished through George Dickel’s signature Chill Charcoal Mellowing process.
No. 1 is a 91-proof (45.5 % ABV) whisky with a clear appearance and initial aroma that is soft, yet full of raw grain. Those raw notes vanish upon a mellow and smooth first taste, with a creamy and sweet corn flavor. The Chill Charcoal Mellowing process gives the liquid a soft, smooth finish. George Dickel No. 1 will retail at a suggested price of $21.99 for a 750 ml bottle.
