What is Your Phone Wrecking Personality?

Tracking PixelHave you ever wrecked a smartphone? That was the question posed to me when I joined the OtterBox #PhoneWrecker campaign. Of course for most people, the answer is undoubtedly yes, and I’m certainly in that sad boat with most people. I tend to keep up with the latest and greatest releases, and on two occasions my prized smartphone acquisition looked like the image below within the first week of purchase. I’m not ashamed to admit, one of those incidents made me cry.

Broken-PhoneIt’s not that I’m careless, it’s just that things can and will happen, and when you drop a phone on a hard surface, it’s likely to break. So I’ve made a rule for myself, all smartphone purchases must be accompanied with a new case. I’m to the point now where I won’t even open the box until I know I have a proper case to protect that valuable piece of modern technology. The folks at OtterBox make some of the best cases on the market, and they’ve developed a new tool to help you identify which of their cases will fit your “Phone Wrecking Personality“.

Phone-WreckerI took the quiz, and due to my love of sports it appears I fall into the “Raging Wrecker” category. I don’t know about raging, but I’ve definitely dropped my phone at a hockey game, and while tailgating for football before, so I guess the shoe fits. For this Raging Wrecker, OtterBox recommended the rugged protection of their Defender case, which is available in a variety of designs as shown below :

Otterbox-DefenderYou can get a 10% discount from OtterBox when you complete the quiz and share your results, but I was lucky enough to have them send me one for free. The Defender Series offer 3-layers of protection that can withstand drops, dust, and bumps. It also includes built-in screen protection that prevents scratches. Honestly it’s like they know me, because I’ve had all of those problems with my phones in the past. It even comes with a holster, which I didn’t even realize was a thing anymore. I’ve only been using the case for a couple of days, but admittedly it has already protected my phone from a pretty rough fall.
