Carolina Hotel at Pinehurst Resort
Some say you can feel the spirit of Pinehurst as you turn onto Carolina Vista. This majestic century-old hotel with its signature copper cupola and sweeping verandas make you feel as though you’ve stepped back in time to an era when elegance defined grand hotels and resorts. Dubbed the “Queen of the South,” the Carolina has 230 Four-Diamond guest rooms, including suites.
Pinehurst is one of the most famous Golf Resort destinations in the United States and will serve as the host of the U.S. Open Championship this weekend. We had the occasion to spend a night in the Carolina Hotel at Pinehurst with Lexus last May and could see why it is called the “White House of Golf.” The property was filled with southern charm, history, and personality.
Opened on New Year’s Day in 1901, The Carolina Hotel is just a short walk away from the famous Pinehurst No.2 Golf Course which opened in 1907. Having undergone a historic restoration in 2010, Pinehurst No.2 is set to host the U.S. Open in 2014 with a very different course than was played at the U.S. Opens in 1999 and 2005. If you’re a golfer, or lover of southern culture, The Carolina Hotel at Pinehurst should definitely be on your bucket list.
