Meet pivot – a New Television Network

PivotThe folks at Participant Media (The Help, An Inconvenient Truth, and Lincoln) are set to launch their new television network on August 1st. The network is titled “pivot” and it targets passionate millennials with a diverse slate of talent and a mix of original series, programming, films, and documentaries :

The network will feature the Australian scripted series “Please Like Me”, written by and starring comedian Josh Thomas as a 20-year-old man who’s dumped by his girlfriend, discovers he’s gay and learns his mother has attempted suicide, all in the same day.

Another show set to première on pivot, January 18th, is Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s Hit RECord On TV!. This show is a new take on the variety show hosted by Gordon-Levitt who directs countless artists from his global open-source online community – hitRECord – to create short films, live performances, music, animation, conversation and more.

With 40+ million subscribers at launch, Pivot’s programming slate is anchored by more than 300 hours of original programming in its first year.
