Team Gunaxin Update
As you know, this season Gunaxin is representing Old Spice in the Blogger Fantasy League. Each week, we’ll try to post a small update, so you can follow our progress. Last weekend we were victorious over Dan Levy from Press Coverage and On the DL Podcast, in a match-up that was made way too close by a ridiculous performance from the Pittsburgh Defense. Going into that contest, we scuttled Vince Young for the controversial Michael Vick, and even started him over Cutler, partially out of spite. In the end, both QBs scored about the same amount of points, but Vick earn a starting job while out performing Young, making that free agent pick-up look fairly brilliant.
This week we face Jerod Morris from Midwest Sports Fans. Again we scoured the waiver wires, and this time used our 3rd overall position to snag Demaryius Thomas, while casting off the disappointing Laurent Robinson. We’ve quickly discovered that talented Wide Receivers are difficult to come by in this 12 team league where we start 3 each week, so we couldn’t pass on Thomas’ upside. Once we start hitting the bye weeks, the lack of depth at Receiver is really going to be an issue for some teams. Two weeks in, we’re at 2-0, and our risks on players like Jay Cutler, Darren McFadden, and Braylon Edwards have already paid dividends.
For additional BFL 2010 news, we check in with Diana Klochova of National Football Press, who explains why it’s not her fault. Diana’s opponent this week is the aforementioned Dan Levy, which lands her the hot spot on his podcast this time. For even more Football talk, be sure to check out my recent appearance on the Friday Football Preview Podcast with our week 3 opponent, Jerod Morris.
