Twenty Awesome Fictional Cars
There have been many famous cars throughout television and movie history. Many of them are your typical, relatively unmodified vehicles straight from the manufacturer. Our favorites however are those that are fictional, either completely made up, or heavily modified from something you can buy from a dealer. Often times the cars have been retrofitted with gadgets and graphics to serve a specific purpose of the characters. However these fictional cars become characters themselves. Let’s look at twenty of our favorites…
20) The Mystery Machine – Scooby Doo
This car didn’t really do much but check out the paint job. Can’t top that!
19) The A-Team Van
It’s the preferred vehicles for soldiers of fortune!
This care isn’t really cool, it’s haunted, but that’s kinda cool so let’s give it a spot.
17) Shaguar – Austin Powers
16) Munster’s Car
Now you decide – is the Munster’s one better than the Addams family’s?
15) Addams Family Car
14) The Gadgetmobile – Inspector Gadget
Go go gadget car!
13) Bluesmobile – The Blues Brothers
12) Ecto-1 – Ghostbusters
I like it because of the alarm sound it makes.
11) The Flintstone’s Car
For the time, this was an amazing vehicle. Sure, you had to use your feet to use it, but back then, people had stronger leg muscles.
10) Shag’n Wag’n – Dumb & Dumber
This van can’t do anything special, but it’s made up like a dog, which is perhaps the most creative thing anyone has done to any of these vehicles. Sure, the van in Scooby Doo has a cool paint job, but this… well this is a dog.
Though it’s only a Volkswagon Beetle, he has a mind of his own and is capable of driving himself.
8) Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
I mean, look at it. Imagine going to prom in this thing.
7) The General Lee – The Dukes of Hazzard
Because this car can withstand backwoods jumps and routinely outrace cops, it gets a spot on this list. Only if my ’97 Mercury Mystique could do that.
6) The Homer – The Simpsons
Homer has never worked so hard making anything, and he had all the resources to do it. Sure, it bankrupted his brother’s company, but that’s gotta be one amazing car.
5) Lightning McQueen – Cars
I nearly forgot this one and all the kids who read Gunaxin would’ve called me silly for the oversight.
4) Aston Martin – James Bond
Just about any one of the Bond cars could’ve made this list but the Aston Martin will represent them all. Of course it’s equipped with all of the latest gadgets, thanks to Q.
3) KITT – Knight Rider
A talking car in an 80s TV series? This is Gunaxin, of course it’s going to be on this list!
2) Batmobile – Batman
There are many variations of the Batmobile, so pick your favorite.
1) DeLorean – Back to the Future
Despite its frequent technical difficulties throughout the film, and its need for 1.21 gigawatts of electricity, this bad boy can time travel, which is far more than any of the other vehicles can do, which is why it’s first on this list.
