Union Station Hotel – Nashville

Union Station Hotel Lexus 560x746The Union Station Hotel in Nashville, TN originally served as a railway station starting in 1900. The building is a fabulous example of late-Victorian Romanesque Revival architecture and sadly saw its last train customer in 1979. In the early 1980s the facility was converted into a 125 room boutique hotel and is now a member of Marriot’s Luxury Autograph Collection.

IMG 6473 560x247Union Station Hotel served as the home of our recent trip to Nashville to experience the new 2015 Lexus NX, and we had the privilege of spending a night in this uniquely historic hotel. Union Station is a majestic reminder of America’s great railroad era that features exquisite architecture, historic southern charm and first-class service.

IMG 6395 560x746The 65-foot high barrel-vaulted lobby ceiling showcases gold-leaf medallions and original Luminous Prism stained glass. Each end of the lobby features a bas-relief panel, with a steam locomotive on one side and a horse-drawn chariot on the other.

IMG 6406 560x309The Union Station Hotel clearly isn’t your typical overnight accommodation and is definitely a worthy addition to your Nashville itinerary. It was the perfect setting for our Lexus excursion. We only wish we had more than one evening to explore this magnificent piece of history.
