Donovan McNabb Benched?

I’m currently watching the Ravens vs. Eagles, and it appears Donovan McNabb has been benched. Kevin Kolb has come out to start in the second half. McNabb was 8 of 18 for 59 yards with 2 interceptions and 1 fumble in the first half. Maybe Andy Reid thought Donovan was playing for the tie again? Maybe Reid finally realized that Rush Limbaugh was right? My guess is that Reid is sending a message that his fate will not be tied to his long time quarterback. Which one do you think will be back next year, or will both be gone? At 5-4-1, it seems this game is fairly important for Philly. Desperate times call for desperate measures I suppose.

Apparently it is a benching and not an injury, as ESPN has now confirmed :

There has been a quarterback change with the Philadelphia Eagles that’s sure to send shock waves through the NFL. The Eagles benched Donovan McNabb and started the second half of Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens with backup quarterback Kevin Kolb. There was no hint of injury from McNabb, as he was standing on the sidelines. He committed three turnovers in the first half and has seven turnovers in his last six quarters. McNabb has been at the center of controversy this week for his poor play and saying after the Eagles’ 13-13 tie with the Cincinnati Bengals that he had been unaware NFL games can end in a draw. The Eagles trailed the Ravens 10-7 at halftime Sunday.

To help you, Mr. Eagles Fan, get through this hardship, I have prepared a gallery of Philadelphia Eagles Cheerleaders to cheer you up. Enjoy:
